EMC compliance requirements
Electromagnetic noise produced by an electrical / electronic device can be measured by an electromagnetic emission test. These measurements aim to ensure that all emissions from the system are lower than the corresponding product standard testing limits. Electromagnetic Emissions Testing can be separated into two main subsections: radiated emissions and conducted emissions.
Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Testing
Electrostatic discharge testing is the process of testing a device’s resistance to electrostatic discharge, or ESD. ESD occurs when two electrically charged objects contact each other, are involved in an electrical short, or suffer a dielectric breakdown. This results in a sudden flow of electricity.
Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) Testing
SAR testing is important because it measures the amount of RF energy absorbed by biological tissue when using a wireless device over a period of time. This testing allows you to demonstrate that your product complies with international established RF exposure SAR limits. We can test to all current SAR standards at every stage of your product development cycle, confirming compliance to the legal and market human RF exposure requirements.
